What is a Tornado Cleaning Gun?

The Tornado cleaning gun is a specialized air pressure cleaner that uses air pressure and an optional cleaning agent to take on nearly every car detailing task. It’s primarily known in automotive cleaning for cleaning the various fabrics found in cars, ranging from carpets to speaker covers.

How Does the Tornado Cleaning Gun Work?

What Do You Put in a Tornado Cleaning Gun?

A Tornado gun doesn’t require any water or solution. It will work adequately for some jobs with air pressure alone. However, adding a Tornado cleaner or water will add the extra cleaning boost that makes the job of spot cleaning easier and better.

We recommend our Econo-Clean multipurpose cleaner with a 10-1 dilution. This ratio will be nebulized by the oscillating tip and become a fine mist that’s perfect for interior jobs. Tornado interior cleaning is a quick job since the surface does not need to be removed and pressure washed. 

Be aware that thick solutions will clog up the tool. Make sure that you only use an approved Tornado cleaning solution to avoid harming the gun.

What Size Air Compressor Do I Need for a Tornado Cleaning Gun?

The Tornado pressure washing tool requires an air compressor. The tool needs a 90 PSI minimum and a maximum of 120 PSI. The recommended air pressure to use is about 100-105 PSI.  Each Tornado gun comes with an air regulator to help you dial in 100-105 PSI. Therefore, an air compressor with a 13-gallon capacity or higher is recommended for the air cleaning gun. This low requirement makes Tornado pressure washing a possibility for mobile detailing. Using the Tornado gun with PSI higher than 120 can damage the tool.
